Job Title: Editorial Director
Job Summary:
The Editorial Director leads the overall editorial vision, voice, and strategy of the organization. This role is responsible for setting content direction, managing editorial teams, ensuring high editorial standards, and aligning content with business and audience goals across all platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and execute the organization's editorial strategy and long-term content vision.
- Oversee content planning, development, editing, and publishing across print, digital, and multimedia platforms.
- Lead, mentor, and manage editors, writers, freelancers, and contributors.
- Ensure accuracy, quality, consistency, and brand voice across all editorial content.
- Develop and enforce editorial guidelines, style guides, and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with marketing, product, design, and leadership teams to align content with business objectives.
- Approve major story ideas, features, and editorial calendars.
- Monitor content performance and audience engagement; adjust strategy based on insights and analytics.
- Manage editorial budgets, resources, and timelines.
- Stay informed on industry trends, audience needs, and competitive landscapes.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field, 8-12+ years of editorial experience,
- including leadership or senior editorial roles.
- Proven experience managing editorial teams and large-scale content projects.
- Strong editorial judgment and exceptional writing and editing skills.
- Deep understanding of digital publishing, SEO, and content analytics.
- Ability to balance creativity with strategic and business thinking.
