About Job

Buddha Tech is seeking a Data Engineer with experience in building cloud-based modern data platforms from the ground up. Reporting to the Analytics Director, the incumbent will be responsible for ingesting, wrangling, cleansing and delivering data to power our Analytics, BI and ML/AI capabilities. The successful candidate will be passionate about data and have a strong foundation of data management concepts and engineering best practices of data warehousing, data integration and analytics.

Your first project will be to support the digital transformation of Nepal's top domestic airlines, Buddha Air. The deliverables will be focused on delivering value and improving the user experience across all digital properties.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop end-to-end Cloud based solutions supporting data integration, data ingestion, data observability, and data fulfillment.

Develop and maintain code and documentation for ETL and other data integration projects and procedures

Build a Data Platform and services using the latest Cloud technologies

Build real-time streaming and batch data pipelines, metadata services, and UI dashboards for data monitoring, controls, and prediction.

Explore opportunities for optimization of existing data services and re-designing of data infrastructure for greater scalability and performance.

Provide support to Data Governance initiatives such as data quality, data lineage, and metadata management, and perform root-cause analysis to answer specific business questions

Work closely with our application solution architects, data analytics teams to develop BI solutions, enhance and/or define new data integrations and/or modeling efforts.

Collaborate with the team to decide on which tools and strategies to use within specific data integration scenarios

Qualifications:

Hands-on experience in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related fields.

Tenured experience in Software Engineering experience with a strong focus on data.

Good Knowledge in SQL and Python programming language

3+ years' experience in developing data pipelines and workflows using technology from the cloud solution platforms, including; GCP, Azure, and AWS.

At Least 3-5 years of experience working in the data engineering field

Very Strong GCP data engineering experience working with BigQuery, Dataflow, Airflow, Pub/Sub, Data Catalog, Cloud Composer and CloudSQL Functions

Experience in working with/on data warehouses, including technical architecture, infrastructure, ETL/ELT and reporting/analytic tools
