It is under the founding principle that women survivors of human trafficking have immense potential to combat the exploitation of Nepalese women and girls and to create social change. The Counselor will be responsible specially to look after the below mentioned project. In relation, the COUNSELOR is requested to provide needful insights and support to the organization as and when needed and requested by the Authority.
School for justice – funded by Free a Girl
This project intends to meet its objective of empowering CSEC survivors to have a sustainable livelihood by ensuring quality education. For this, 20 girls/women have been selected from a pool of trafficking survivors (previous paralegals and referred by other partner organizations) who at some point have come across commercial sexual exploitation. Girls/women will be enrolled for higher studies (University degree) of their interest to build upon a career on it. Further, they are placed at a girl's hostel (Kathmandu and Pokhara) so that they can concentrate on their studies along with English language classes to improve their understanding. Moreover, this project will also focus on sensitizing community level stakeholders for effective reintegration of the CSE girls.
School for Justice has currently launched a campaign called "Voice for Justice".Besides education, the students of the School for Justice Nepal also act as spokespersons in the campaign, which will focus on one specific case among the spokespersons so that SFJ students feels strong enough to file a complaint, bring those responsible for this crime to justice, spark the conversation as a change agent, grow support from the community, change the system from within, fight impunity and raise awareness about sexual exploitation of children on a national- and an international platform.
The Counselor will be supporting in the overall motivational process ensuring mental wellness
Perform psychosocial counseling to the beneficiaries of ‘School for Justice’ program being flexible with their timing.
Develop monthly report based on the counseling session
Travel to field office as per requirement
Smooth coordination with hostel warden and program manager
Attend programs/events/workshops related the project
Related task assigned by program manager
