Job Description:
- The Consultant will work in APPIIC’s Investment Promotion, Private Investment and Partnership Unit at Office of the Investment Board Nepal completing assignments and tasks defined in a Terms of Reference
- The Consultant will work under the day to day direction, guidance, and supervision of the head of the Investment Promotion, Private Investment and Partnership Unit
- The Consultant will be responsible for tasks assigned by the Unit head according to the requirements of the IBN
In addition to the above, The Consultant will be responsible for the following tasks:
Investment Promotion:
- Continue to support the Office of IBN with investment promotion activities and follow up on the potential investors who have shown interest in business opportunities in Nepal
- Organise promotional events such as road shows, conferences, and workshops to promote specific projects and sectors both internationally and in Nepal
- Develop promotional materials about investment opportunities and investment processes in Nepal
- Work with relevant government agencies, diplomatic missions (both foreign and Nepali) and private sector organizations to organise and promote investment opportunities in Nepal
- Manage procurement processes as and when required to execute investment promotion activities
- Coordinate with colleagues to ensure the quality and effectiveness of the IBN website is high in relation to investment promotion
Investor Services:
- Be the first point of contact for investors approaching IBN and provide the relevant information on the investment climate and processes
- Coordinate and facilitate Investment Facilitation Coordination Committee (IFCC) meetings that provides one-window investor services and facilitate investment
- Meet with and guide potential investors and developers who express an interest in investing in Nepal and convert such interest into projects
Research and Development:
- Work to improve the investment climate in Nepal by providing recommendations that can simplify procedures and regulations for:
- Investment applications and approvals
- Foreign currency repatriations
- Business registrations
- Obtaining consents, approvals, and licences
- Ensure regular the update and dissemination of investment guides, sector profiles and factsheets on investment projects, and other investment promotion materials
- Conduct research on investment-related issues
Education
- Master’s Degree in Management and Economics preferred
Knowledge, skills and abilities
- A strong command of the English and Nepali languages (both writing and speaking)
Experience and Competencies
- At least 5 years of experience in well-established organizations.
- A results-oriented team player with skills and competencies in
- Event organisation
- Government and foreign private sector stakeholder management and coordination
- Good interpersonal skills
- Research and analytical skills
- Managerial skills in leading, organising, planning and executing independently
