|As vehicle emission a major contributor to air pollution in Kathmandu Valley, USAID Clean Air is seeking to identify and promote innovative solutions to promote cleaner transport within Kathmandu Valley, together with municipalities, civil society, and private sector. In this context, Changunarayan Municipality has requested USAID Clean Air to conduct a feasibility study for operating electric public transport within the municipality using small vehicles and has identified seven potential routes.
Under an agreement with FHI 360 Nepal, the consultant will to work closely with local governments and private sector trading/selling EV and providing EV transport, repair and maintenance services to assess the current situation of EV segment and its human resources in Kathmandu Valley including existing gaps, make necessary recommendations of required actions for developing human resources required to the fulfil demand of rapidly growing EV segment under transport sector in Nepal and design courses for EV technicians.
