About the Role:

As our Computer Expert, you'll be the brains behind our content, providing deep insights, practical tips, and real-world testing for a variety of tech topics. Your expertise will be transformed into engaging articles by our writing team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough research on various technology topics
• Perform hands-on testing of software, hardware, gadgets and online services
• Create detailed outlines and key points for articles on topics such as: Windows optimization, customization, and troubleshooting
• Hardware selection and problem-solving
• PC and server hardware upgrades and maintenance
• Linux distributions: installation, usage, and troubleshooting
• Open source software alternatives for common applications
• Diagnosing and resolving common computer issues across operating systems
• Improving computer performance and speed
• Data backup and recovery strategies for personal and network storage
• Network setup and troubleshooting for home and small office environments
• Setting up and managing Network Attached Storage (NAS) systems
• Home server configuration (e.g., file sharing, media servers)
• PC and network security best practices and malware prevention
• Navigating operating system updates and new feature rollouts
• Dual-boot and virtualization setup and management
• Basic to intermediate networking concepts and troubleshooting
• Provide expert insights based on your experience and testing
• Stay current with the latest technology trends and their practical applications
• Collaborate with our content team to ensure technical accuracy

Qualifications:

• Extensive hands-on experience with Windows, Linux, and networking technologies
• Deep understanding of computer hardware, software, and common technical issues
• Proven ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms
