Job Description

Roles and responsibilities of this job

This position holder will provide rehabilitation expertise to the GWT medical and non-medical staff, and patient carers so that they may better assess and treat the pensioners, train appropriate skills as necessary and within their competency. Examples might be manual handling and teaching of transferring patients with limited mobility, fitting or walking aids and appropriate wheelchair choice. She/he will provide direct rehabilitation and physiotherapeutic treatments and interventions to pensioners in their homes and in GWT premises.

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 3 years

Other Specification

Minimum bachelor’s degree in physical therapy or occupational therapy with at least 3 years of work experience in related field.
Current unrestricted registration with Nepal Health Professional Council (NHPC).
Previous experience in community rehabilitation settings is vital.
Working knowledge and application of relevant Country legislation governing medical practice.
Preference to candidates with master’s degree with specialisation in Geriatric or Neurology or musculoskeletal medicine, Rehabilitation Science and Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR).
Demonstrated expertise in rehabilitation service, capacity building of generalist health staff on rehabilitation and identifying patients who need referral for specialised rehabilitation.
Experience in clinical service delivery to elderly population or people with disabilities.
Prior Experience working with international companies or NGOs.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
