Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Engineer specializing in road construction to join our team. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of hands-on experience in road design, construction, and maintenance, particularly in challenging terrains outside valley areas. This role requires expertise in managing road projects, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with national and international construction standards in mountainous or remote environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and verify running bills, final bills, petty contractor bills, variation orders, price adjustments, and cross-section drawings, letter writing and coordinate with office.
Calculate material quantities (cement, sand, aggregate, etc.), prepare purchase orders, and conduct material consumption analysis.
Oversee and manage road construction projects, ensuring adherence to budget, timeline, and safety regulations.
Prepare daily progress reports, including material consumption data, with supporting photos and videos.
Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, local authorities, and stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution.
Conduct quality control and assurance throughout all project phases to meet engineering and environmental standards.
Monitor and enforce compliance with safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and project specifications.
Perform on-site inspections, ensuring proper execution of grading, drainage, and road alignment.
Conduct feasibility studies, site surveys, and geotechnical investigations for new road projects.
Maintain and inspect road infrastructure post-construction to identify and address any maintenance needs.

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than or equal to 5 years

Other Specification

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in road construction and infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of road construction materials, soil mechanics, and drainage systems.
Proficiency in road design software, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, SW Road, and related tools.
Good understanding of construction laws, safety standards, and road engineering guidelines in Nepal.

Skills & Competencies:

Excellent project management and leadership skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, especially in complex environments.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with teams, clients, and government authorities.
Ability to work in challenging terrains and remote project locations with periodic travel.
Hands-on experience in using Total Station and Auto Level for surveying.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation.
Ability to analyze road construction project costs and recommend budget optimizations.
Strong understanding of the Road Standards of Nepal and other relevant regulations.
