Roles and responsibilities of this job

Nepal Center for Engineering and Research is seeking a candidate for a Trainee Civil Engineer position in Kathmandu, Nepal. Under certain conditions, flexible work location and flexible working hours can be made possible.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Perform Civil Engineering Design (manual as well as using available software)
Prepare Engineering Cost Estimates
Prepare construction drawings using AutoCAD
Guide and lead a team of draftsman
Limited administrative and managerial tasks

Other Specification

Bachelors in Civil Engineering (minimum), fresh graduates can apply
0 to 3 Years of Engineering experience
Working experience in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus
Ability to communicate in English (written and verbal)
Knowledge in computer hardware and software is preferable but not compulsory
The successful candidate must be willing and able to work with minimum supervision
Should be able to take the initiative and self-learn, interested in seeking new knowledge and challenges
Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and willing to be flexible in working hours to accommodate foreign partner companies (overnight working is not expected)
The position would be more suitable for an individual who is interested in and willing to handle the conditions of a growing organization while contributing to its growth
The successful candidate will receive training in required software for engineering design applicable for different parts of the world
There will be a Training/Trial/Probationary period of 4-6 weeks.
Those who are currently employed will get a chance to know the job better by working part time with us while they keep their current employment.
