Backend Engineer - AI

As a Backend Engineer specializing in AI at Naamche, you'll be an integral part of our exceptional team of engineers and data scientists. If you're passionate about AI, proficient in software engineering and thrive in a collaborative and dynamic environment, you're in the right place!

Please note that this is not an AI research position. We expect you to work across backend engineering, data engineering & AI engineering.

• Working with large language models (LLMs) from OpenAI, Anthropic, Cohere, etc to develop innovative AI solutions
• Designing and implementing APIs for seamless integration of AI models into the product ecosystem
• Developing and maintaining data pipelines and engineering the backend infrastructure of the product.
• Performing exploratory data analysis on structured and unstructured datasets and prepare reports to present to the stakeholders
• Working closely with frontend engineers, data scientists, and product managers to identify the business requirements and determine how AI can be leveraged to create business impact
• Evaluating the performance of AI models using appropriate evaluation frameworks
• Presenting product demos to stakeholders

Job Requirements

Skill Set

• You have an in-depth knowledge of Python and hands-on experience working on medium to large scale projects.
• Experience with other programming languages like JS (NodeJS) is a plus.
• You possess a strong understanding of fundamentals in AI/ML and are familiar with various algorithms and techniques (supervised, unsupervised, reinforcement learning, etc.)
• You have practical experience working with data manipulation, cleansing, and preprocessing techniques. You eat numpy and pandas for breakfast and make beautiful plots in matplotlib.
• You have build professional or personal projects using OpenAI’s (or any other similar ) LLMs
• You are proficient backend API design principles and follow best practices to create robust and efficient interfaces
• Familiarity with containerization using Docker is expected
• Experience working with cloud technologies (like AWS) is a big plus.
• You possess excellent communication skills in English and are confident in presenting your work to stakeholders
• You have a passion for developing products, not just writing softwares, i.e. you think beyond the JIRA tickets assigned to you and try to understand the business objective behind the software.
• You don’t shy away from providing feedback to your colleagues and you don’t get offended when you receive constructive criticism.
• You take your own initiatives and don’t wait on your supervisor to tell you what to do

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in machine learning engineering roles
• Freshers are encouraged to apply only if you can demonstrate exceptional abilities in AI and software engineering through personal and professional projects.
