Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Assistant to support our finance and accounting functions. The Accounts Assistant will work under the direction of the Bookkeeper and Accounts Officer and will assist with day-to-day accounting, bookkeeping, data entry, payment reconciliation, receivables follow-up, and other finance-related administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and update accurate records of student payments and financial transactions.
Track student fees, payments, outstanding balances, refunds, and other related financial information.
Regularly follow up on outstanding receivables and maintain proper records of collection status.
Prepare and maintain payment and collection reports using Microsoft Excel.
Assist with daily payment reconciliation and basic accounting-related tasks.
Coordinate with relevant teams regarding student payments, outstanding balances, refunds, and account-related matters.
Respond to student payment and account-related queries professionally and promptly.
Prepare regular payment, collection, and receivables reports for management.
Ensure all payment records, receipts, supporting documents, and financial information are accurate and properly maintained.
Review records to identify discrepancies, missing information, or irregularities and report them to the concerned team.
Assist the Bookkeeper and Accounts Officer with day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities.
Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records.
Perform other accounting, payment, and administrative duties as assigned by management.

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 1 year

Other Specification

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, Management, or a related field.
Previous experience in accounting, bookkeeping, finance administration, or payment handling will be an advantage.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
Basic understanding of accounting principles, payment reconciliation, and receivables management.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial information.
Good numerical and analytical skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling financial and student information.
Organized, responsible, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Ability to work collaboratively with the Accounts, Student Coordination, and other relevant teams.
