Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH invites applications from suitable and qualified professional for the Local and Provisional Economic Development / Green Resilient Agricultural Productive Ecosystems (GRAPE) Project. LPED / GRAPE is a joint Nepali-German Project under the guidance of the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation (MoLCPA), Government of Nepal with Technical Assistance by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and co-financed by the European Union and Finland. The overall volume of the project is 18,35 Mio. EUR. The overall objective of the Project is that framework conditions for local economic development in selected (rural and urban) municipalities and value chains at local and provincial level are improved. The Project has four output areas: (1) Economic governance, (2) Action research, (3) Rolling-out, and (4) Scaling-up. The cluster coordinator is responsible for implementing daily operational aspects of all issues related to the project in the respective geographical cluster and ensuring effective coordination with partner municipalities and provincial government for smooth implementation of project activities.

Trainee - Support To Communication, Visibility And Outreach to Target Groups

Project: Green Resilient Agricultural Productive Ecosystems (GRAPE)
Position: Trainee - Support to communication, visibility and outreach to target groups
Working period: 6 Months
Working location: Khumaltar, Kathmandu, Nepal
Reports to: Head of field of action 4

Responsibilities:

  • Support to implementation of Communication and Visibility Plan of the project
  • Storytelling on project activities
  • Support cooperation with journalists and journalist groups
  • Support to the management of and update of the project’s website and newsletter
  • Support knowledge management and documentation of project activities
  • Support to the elaboration of project publications
  • Support to proof-reading translated documents from English to Nepali
  • Other tasks as assigned

General Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, media sciences or equivalent
  • General understanding of climate change and agriculture sector
  • Excellent English and Nepali (spoken and written, essential)
  • Less than one year of professional experience
  • Use of Microsoft Office package (essential)
  • Very good communication skills
  • Knowledge of using design applications like In-design would be an advantage
  • Good interpersonal skills and team player
