Job Description

  • Issues with Peers: Work on with the issues such as bullying, clique formation, estrangement and infighting and all other issues related with students and peers that are crucial to resolve. Provides direction in the complete development of children and young people, including adequate counselling and assisting them in overcoming their weakness and resolving conflicts with their peers and others.
  • Psycho social Problems:  Help in the early identification of problem behaviors and take suitable steps to prevent the onset of psycho social problems. 
  • Working with Parents: Enable holistic support and ensure that the child’s home environment is secure and nurturing for them, as well as to keep the parents in the loop about the work done in counselling, and how to ensure that the results are maintained at home.
  • Working with Teachers and school administration in order to empower students and to provide them with skills such as coping skills or problem solving strategies or emotional unburdening.
  • Proper documentation of student record: Maintain accurate and confidential student records by documenting counseling sessions, assessments, and interventions. Prepare reports as needed for the school administration.

  • The school counselor should possess the skills and abilities to perform three major functions:

    3. A welfare function: which is the responsibility to plan for and react to issues which impact students welfare.
