Job Description

Momoway Pvt. Ltd., a sister company of Manaram Group is looking for the following positions:

DEPARTMENT: Operations
REPORTS TO: Restaurant Manager

Position Overview

The Unit Supervisor (US) is responsible to ensure that the restaurant operation runs smoothly. He/she shall oversee the activities of restaurant employees, expedite customer’s orders as needed and maintain a good working relationship with the supplier. The US shall exercise effective management skills and take necessary disciplinary actions to address the poor performance of an employee. Ultimately, the US should be able to achieve exceptional customer service and ensure that customers have a pleasant restaurant experience.

Roles and Responsibilities

General Management

  • Planning and delegating work duties to the staff and ensuring that they work according to the compliance of the restaurant business
  • Checking in on dining customers to enquire about food quality and services.
  • Manage the restaurant as appropriate to achieve customer satisfaction and quality service.
  • Implement company programs and manage the operations as required to ensure compliance with SOP
  • Coordinate the operation of the restaurant ensuring that kitchen, bar and waiting staff are working as a team.
  • Monitoring inventory and ensuring that all food supplies and other restaurant essentials are adequately stocked.
  • Monitoring the restaurant’s cash flow and settling outstanding bills.
  • Review customer surveys to develop and implement ways to improve customer service.
  • Record the weekly expenses and provide measures to overcome the expenses. 

Quality Management and Assurance

  • Conduct regular inspections of the restaurant kitchen to determine whether proper standards of hygiene and sanitation are maintained.
  • Overseeing food preparation, presentation, and storage to ensure compliance with food health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure that operational and training standards are consistently followed and executed.

Relationship Management 

  • Assist in the recruitment, train the existing and new employees to attend to guests, and provide customer service. 
  • Coach, provide feedback and develop a healthy culture and performance within the team
  • Assess and improve the performance of employees in a timely manner.

Reporting

  • Prepare reports at the end of the shift/week, including staff control, food control and sales
  • Reporting on a regular basis to the Line Manager.

Skills & Qualifications

Task Related skills

  • Bachelor's degree in business management; hospitality management or related field
  • 2+ years of experience working as a restaurant supervisor or a similar position. 
  • Professional certification as a Certified Restaurant Supervisor will be an advantage
  • Competencies and Soft Skills
  • Outstanding communication ability in both English and Nepali
  • Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines.
  • Ability to move throughout all food and beverage areas and continuously perform essential job functions.
  • Able to deal with confidential information and/or issues using discretion and good judgement
  • Strong leadership, motivational and people skills
  • Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach
  • Good understanding of useful computer programs (MS Office, POS)
