Global Action Nepal is dynamic social organization which has been working exclusively in Nepal for more than two decades to help improving the quality of life of marginalized people in Nepal engaging stakeholders meaningfully for quality education, equity, human rights and lifelong learning. GAN is implementing Civil Society Participation in Education (COPE) Project, funded by the European Commission, implement through a consortium led by National Campaign for Education Nepal in partnership with GAN, Nepal Disabled Women Association. The main objective of this project is to unite various stakeholders in addressing issues related to accountability and governance within the education sector. The project is to be implemented in Dhanusha, Siraha and Rautahat districts of Madesh province and Dailekh, Kalikot, Surkhet districts of Karnali province.

Thus, GAN is seeking for pro-active, qualified, self-motivated, dedicated and outcome oriented Project Officer under COPE project.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Programme development and implementation: Take Lead in design and deliver various workshop, trainings, seminars and Short sessions to school teachers, Learning support class facilitators and stakeholders focusing on gender sensitivity teaching, Child friendly teaching methodologies and core subjects. Support schools to develop gender sensitive and PMECs plans, on- going mentoring to individual teachers, development, documentation and organized of training information, prepare plan reports, develop strong, trust and constructive relationship with communities, schools, teachers etc. 
  • Lead in finance management: Plan budget for impending activities and communicate with supervisor for accuracy and timely release, maintain record of programme expenses in a standard format for settlement of advance and reimbursement.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Coordinate and design, implementation of baseline, Mid line, and end line surveys and other field regular assessments and follow up monitoring and evaluation exercises as when required in the overall project life. Provide regular mentoring support to individual teachers, lead and assist regular programme review with key stakeholders and provide feedback and recommendation to the DC with as view to incorporating improvements into the programme etc. 
  • Other support: Establish and promote better coordination and linkage with like mindedorganization, DEO, selected schools, IVEs and VSO for effective delivery of the trainings, assist coordinator, subordinate and co-staffs in arranging venues for training and workshops with appropriate physical facilities.

Skills and Qualification: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education with at least two years relevant experience, with excellent facilitation skills, development, and design and delivery of trainings 
  • Good communication skill with good Englishand Nepali language competency, written and spoken 
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft word, excel, power point, email and internet
  • Working ability in multicultural environment and excellent coordination skills
  • Familiarity with current development practices, policies and organization in Nepal
