Upper Syange Hydropower Ltd. is a public limited company duly incorporated under the laws of Nepal with the registered office is in Chandol-4, Kathmandu, Nepal. It is a registered company with the license to develop 2.4 MW Upper Syange Small Hydropower Project (SHP) located in Lamjung, Gandaki Zone, Nepal. 

Upper Syange SHP is sourced from Syange Khola, which originates from Sundar Dada, Lamjung with the highest elevation of about 2000-m amsl and flows from West to East before confluencing with Marshyangdi River. 

Nepal has a huge hydropower potential. Of the 40,000 MW economically feasible hydropower energy potential, currently 59 hydro power plants are generating 886.759 MW. And on the demand side, the peak demand of the country has increased to 1385.30 MW from 1291.80 MW during FY 2015/16. With gap in demand and supply of electricity within country, the electricity is being imported from India which increased from 1,369.89 GWh to 1,758.41 GWh during the year 2015/16. Upper Syange SHP is an attempt to fill up this gap by generating electricity from 2.4 MW hydropower project for now and further narrow this gap by foraying into other hydropower projects of greater capacities.
