Architectures Sans Frontieres Nepal (ASF Nepal) is a non – profit NGO established in 2015 by a group of professionals in the fields of architecture, engineering and the built environment, aiming to contribute to the sustainable development of disadvantaged communities in Nepal by sharing technical and scientific expertise, thereby helping communities improve the quality of their lives.

ASF Nepal is a legally registered at the CDO Office and the Social Welfare Council as a non-governmental organization. It is a member of Architecture Sans Frontieres International Network registered in 2009 in France under statutes of according to French law as an International NGO representing various national NGOs following common Hasselt Charter with the interest in social and environmental issues in relation to the built environment and dissatisfaction with ethical standards of mainstream architecture.

Job Description

Position Summary: 

The engineer will be responsible for ensuring effective implementation of the project’s technical assistance activities and task assigned to attain goals and objectives of the project. S/He will have to assist in monitoring construction or reconstruction activities of the projects by mobilizing and supervising the technical team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support in conducting safer building construction related capacity development and awareness raising within the community.
  • Undertake regular monitoring visits towards to evaluate levels of compliance to earthquake-resistant reconstruction techniques and provide any technical advice to the site supervisors, local authorities and house owners to improve quality of constructions
  • Prepare detail design, drawing, cost estimation
  • Work in close coordination and build linkages with technical experts from NRA, DUDBC and Municipality at the district level
