Job Description

Lead a technical team in the design, adaptation and delivery of technology solutions to enhance the quality of education in public schools in collaboration with educators and curriculum experts.
Manage and lead a team of curriculum experts, artists, designers, quality analyst and programmers to design and develop software activities required for the projects.
Create new interactive digital learning activities software using Flash/AS3 and HTML5/CSS/JS, and maintain framework, bug-fixes of old activities, as well as build script and utility software written in Python and PyGTK.
Responsible for maintaining the build system and producing stable and well tested builds for various linux platforms. Use Hudson for CI, and Mercurial for VCS.
Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
Use information system (Redmine) for project management, and be responsible for its administration as well.
Update job knowledge by studying tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Explore new technologies and tools, and able to decide appropriate technologies for the Nepali context, more specifically for public school systems.
Develop software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle.
System Administration: Administer the organization fileserver, router, webserver, backup server and regular computers and also common services like apache, nginx, named, dhcp, squid, iptables, samba, mysql, rsync, wordpress etc.
