Job Description

  • Assist teachers by preparing laboratory experiments that enable students to produce reliable and precise data to support their scientific investigations. 
  • Assisting the Head of Science in ensuring the school laboratories are safe and any problems are reported and acted upon.
  • Maintaining, testing and operating laboratory equipment, for example burette, pipette, power packs, microscopes and pH meters, including preparing specimens and samples.
  • Performing mathematical calculations for the safe preparation of chemicals.
  • Filing and maintaining records for chemicals and equipments.
  • Ensuring that the laboratory is well-stocked and resourced.
  • Being able to use google drive, microsoft office applications and willing to develop ICT skills
  • Able to follow strict safety procedures and safety checks.
  • Work independently in case of absence of the senior lab technician.
  • Keep up to date with technical developments
  • Excellent oral communication skills in order to work effectively with colleagues from all parts of the organisation and to explain complex techniques to interested parties
