Rural Access Programme – Phase 3 (RAP3) is a 6-year DFID funded programme operating in 14 Districts of Nepal. It aims to improve people’s incomes and resilience through employment, sustainable access to markets and improved access to economic opportunities. RAP3 is seeking an experienced person to manage health, safety and wellbeing related activities for the Mugu Humla Link Road (MHLR) Project.

Job Description

Qualification and Experience 

  • Master’s degree in International Development, Public Health or a related field (such as project evaluation, research methods, or statistics) with minimum of five years related professional experience, including three including three years of conducting research. 

Skills and Abilities:

  • An experienced manager with technical competence in research design, implementation, analysis (quantitative and qualitative), and monitoring and evaluation is required to oversee and manage the research component of SS4SC.
  • Proficiency in statistical software packages such as Excel and SPSS, and qualitative data visualisation packages is required.
  • Proven experience designing and conducting research methodology frameworks and participatory research methods including focus group discussion and key informant interviews.
  • Experience using ICT including mobile technology and radio is an asset.
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation of research projects and writing technical reports for internal and external dissemination with strong leadership skills is required.
  • Must be an excellent communicator with all stakeholders, excellent written and spoken English and Nepali required, other local languages an asset.
  • Experience in interpretation and translation is mandatory. Ability and desire to travel to Western Nepal to project site/s in Mugu with approximately 60% fieldwork.
