Population Services International/Nepal (PSI/Nepal) began operations in early 2002 and has been partnering with the Government of Nepal, the private sector, and local and international organizations in areas of nationally defined health priorities to create health solutions that are built to last. PSI/Nepal has been capacitating private sector health services delivery system since last two decades and in parallel providing technical assistance to strengthen public health facilities to deliver primary health care and increase access to family planning and reproductive health services. PSI/Nepal with its expertise and experience in social and behavior change communication, clinical quality assurance, monitoring and evaluation and digital health interventions focuses on designing client centered health care projects to address reproductive health challenges affecting women of reproductive age. With an emphasis on consumer powered health care, PSI/Nepal invests in improving health care market for product and services, and develop solutions that are affordable, convenient, and effective, to help make universal health coverage more of a reality. In the past, PSI/Nepal has successfully managed HIV, malaria, menstrual hygiene management and health and hygiene projects. Currently, it works in areas of family planning, sexual and reproductive health and maternal and newborn health with health systems strengthening at its core.   • At least 10 years of experience implementing and managing public health projects, particularly HIV related programs with 5 years of senior managerial experience
  • Experience in directing and managing large and complex Global Fund grants and subgrants
  • Demonstrated success in building relations with government agencies, international donor agencies and partners
  • Proven record of excellent leadership, decision making, people and financial management, and strong representational skills
  • Experience in building capacity of partner organizations
  • Strong preference will be given to those candidates having significant experience addressing the needs of people most at risk of HIV/AIDS, particularly MSM
  • Ability to work in multi-cultural environment and willing to travel
  • Effective English oral and written communications skills

Job Description

  • Provide senior leadership to the overall operations of the Regional HIV/AIDS Program, actively identifying and addressing challenges and opportunities for the program; take full responsibility for the overall performance and management of the program
  • Ensure workplan targets are developed and in line with the project’s performance framework, reports to Global Fund and its partners are submitted accurately and on time and that program implementation is in full compliance with Global Fund and PSI policies and regulations and local laws
  • Ensure compliance of all reporting systems and procedures as per schedule and deadline
  • Take lead in strategic planning and program design
  • Ensure subgrant contracts meet all required criteria set forth by PSI/Nepal and
  • Manage and direct a team of highly qualified program managers and recruit for additional posts if required
  • Collaborate with Finance department for preparing budget, quarterly and annual report
  • Responsible for building the capacity of partner organisations; coordinate training of partner organizations, as necessary
  • Ensure proper monitoring of program activities, consolidation and verification of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) data quality
  • Act as PSI South Asia focal point for Regional HIV/AIDS Program
  • Actively represent PSI with external partners and stakeholders in programming areas impacting the successful and smooth running of the program.
  • Participation in external meetings, technical working groups, coordination meetings, etc. that impact the successful and smooth running of activities.
  • Coordinate submission of internal and external program progress reports as well as responses to requests by donors, government, and partners
  • Any other tasks as assigned by Supervisor
