KOSHISH is a right-based organization working extensively in advocacy in and multi-disciplinary and holistic mental health and psychosocial support in Nepal. In addition, KOSHISH is also working in system strengthening and creating a model that the government and other stakeholders may able to replicate.

Job Description

Job location: Besishahar Municipality, Marsyandi Rural Municipality, Palungtar Municipality and Siranchowk Rural Municipality of Lamjung and Gorkha Districts
Duration: 1 year with possibility of extension
Educational Qualification: Masters in Psychology (Clinical Psychology Major)

Duties and responsibilities

  • Ensure effective and efficient collaboration with community stakeholders as Municipality, Health Facilities, Disabled People Organization while implementing project activities
  • Work closely with municipality, local health facilities, schools and ensure the sustainability of the project intervention 
  • Support and Supervise Health Facilities, municipality to establish and conduct mental health and psychosocial support program
  • Develop and facilitate training and orientation program for health professional, community stakeholders
  • Monitoring and follow up of the people living with mental health and psychosocial condition
  • Develop the plan and provide the psychosocial counselling to needy beneficiaries, ensure proper documentation of the intervention
  • Capacity building of project team for development and facilitation of community orientation and sensitization programs
  • Support CPSW to form and mobilize the self-help group and empower them as an activist to raise their rights  
  • Supervise the technical aspect of the project
  • Support for the development of Detail Implementation Plan of the project
  • Produce the monthly, quarterly reports, maintain database of beneficiaries, write up human interest stories/case stories
  • Support and build the capacity of community psychosocial worker on reporting, documentation, social mobilization etc 
  • Represent KOSHISH and project in various community and other forum
  • Any other task assigned by the organization relevant with the job 

Skills & Requirements

  • At least 2 year experience in the field of Mental Health and Psychosocial Well being
  • Prior knowledge and expertise in training development and facilitation
  • Informed about Result Based Management and Project Cycle Management
  • Highly skilled in Psychosocial Model of Counselling
  • Ability to work in a team and use own initiative
  • Good documentation skills
  • Sound verbal and written communication skills in English and Nepali
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Extremely flexible, and can cope with stressful workloads and frustration
