Relief Nepal is a non-profit making, non-governmental, non-political, social development organization of Sindhuli district. It was established in 2008 AD with the core objective of vulnerable and marginalized people especially women, children, youth and people living with marginalized condition are empowerment and participated in decision process about the issue affecting their livelihood. It has successfully implemented Livelihood, Child Rights, WASH, Education and DRR projects in five districts. In partnership with World Vision International Nepal (WVIN), Relief Nepal is implementing Integrated Protection Community Engagement and Sponsorship Plan (P-CESP) in Tinpatan, Golanjor and Phikkal Rural Municipality of Sindhuli district. Job Location: Sindhuli District with frequent field visit

Duration: 11 months with possibility of extension

Position Description 

The MEAL officer has to collect, compile, analyse and verify the information collected from community in a way that provides accurate and valid information and database. MEAL officer has to provide necessary support for periodic baseline, evaluation and monitoring process in the assigned program areas. And he/she has to improve the quality of programmes and information management through improved monitoring and accountability system in the programme areas; 

Major Responsibilities: 

  • Update Beneficiaries Tracking and Monitoring System (BTMS) provided by Relief Nepal to track all project beneficiaries and monitor project activities, and produce and submit monthly BTMS report
  • Carry out monitoring against quality benchmark (QBM) as per plan and submit monthly QBM report to Relief Nepal with identified corrective actions 
  • Collect and collate secondary data from various sources in working districts and municipalities for the purpose of assessments, baseline survey and evaluations- as per requirement of Relief Nepal. 
  • Take lead role for coordination, communication and getting necessary approval from local government authorities regarding baseline surveys, evaluations and special researches/studies 
  • Facilitate community meetings while selection of working area - wards/community or cluster selection as well as beneficiary for project activities
  • Ensure compliance of standard criteria and guidelines for prioritizing the working area (municipalities, wards, communities/clusters) and selecting beneficiaries with focus on most vulnerable
  • Establish and operate information provision system on key aspects of the project (such as sharing key message on Technical Program to communities and stakeholders, message on community feedback and response mechanism, beneficiary selection process and criteria etc)

Academic Qualification and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science or development studies in the field relevant to M&E.
  • Data collection méthodologies – qualitative and quantitative.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with NGO/INGO in the field of monitoring, evaluation and accountability sector, Computer and Technology literacy; Good computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
