Sneha’s Care is one of the largest leading animal welfare charities in Nepal. Since its inception in 2014, animal advocate Ms. Sneha Shrestha and the team has been working to protect, and rescue the street animals and community dogs from torture, cruelty, or any form of abuse. And, treat the severely injured furry friends and street animals and shelter them until their recovery. Sneha’s Care has managed a full-time veterinary doctor and the staff to provide professional medical and humane care to the injured, sick, and abandoned dogs and other street animals in its animal shelter and also in the spot, through mobile treatment. Recently, Sneha’s Care is operating the animal sanctuary where numbers of cows, pigs, and buffaloes are rescued and looked after. 

We firmly believe that in the actions of individuals, businesses, and governments, all forms of animal exploitation including factory farming should not be acted. Sneha’s Care is continuously campaigning and attempting to introduce animal welfare law in Nepal for improved safeguards for animals and penalties for animal abuse and cruelty. We are also actively spreading animal welfare awareness on a national scale and educating the public to be compassionate to all non-humans.

Job Description

The Project Officer is responsible for executing the projects in coordination with team members. The project officer will ensure the project activities are completed on time and within budget, and that the project’s stakeholders are involved, its objectives are completed and reports are submitted. 

Sneha’s Care programs are centric to animal welfare theme and is working on Dog Population management, Farm Animal Welfare, Humane Education and Veganism promotion, and other various programs that supports animal welfare principles.     

Reporting to:

All the reporting of the work shall be done to the Executive Director of an Organization in close coordination with other team members.  

Roles and Responsibilities:

The main duty and responsibilities are: 

  • Implement the project activities on the ground as per the project plans in coordination with team members
  • Coordinate with stakeholders and ensure their participation is guaranteed in the project activities.
  • Organize the campaign activities; schedule meetings with stakeholders and ensure project deliverables are met
  • Draft the project reports considering the donor template and submit to the Program Manager for its finalization 
  • Creating concept notes and developing proposals in accordance with the requirements
  • Maintain records and statistics of mobile treatment, shelter animals and project output and make sure those are properly maintained for the reporting purpose as well
  • Coordinate humane education and vegan outreach programs and make presentations for schools, civic groups, public agencies and related groups
  • Provide support to the shelter operation, mobile treatment team and projects staffs to ensure its work objectives are met
  • Support the fundraising Officer to develop the fundraising materials
