Job Description

Work Purpose: The Project Manager is responsible for overall leadership and management of “Safe School in disaster prone areas of Nepal (SSDPAN)” Project in order to achieve the project goal as per approved program design and donor compliance based in Doti District. The Manager will have to work closely with Doti LPA Manager.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience required: 

  • Bachelors (Preferably Masters) degree in Disaster Risk Management/Education/Social Work/ Social Science/Development Studies or any other relevant discipline from recognised university with at least three years working experience; preferably in an NGO context specially focus on disaster risks management, construction/renovation of buildings, school safety, early grade reading and education & managing grants (Japan Government Grants management will be a priority)
  • Extensive experience and recognised expertise in models and methods of training, facilitation and capacity building, project management and organisational development
  • Thorough understanding and experience about Nepal Government’s strategies, policies, guidelines, school safety, and education.
  • Excellent in decision making and problem solving skills
  • Experience in using logical frameworks and project monitoring
  • Competent in using MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint presentation and quantitative skills
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills in English and Nepali  
  • Ability to work under pressure and can take additional responsibilities
  • Willingness to commit to World Vision ethos, vision, mission and core values
  • Self-motivated, confident, independent, Strategic, creative, and innovative thinking, 
  • Positive learning attitude and concern for the poor and vulnerable people
