Type of the Position: Fixed Term (Project Period)

Duty Station: Kathmandu, Nepal with frequent travel to Nepal and India project sites

Job Summary: 

Flood Transboundary Resilience Project (TBR Project) is one of the LWR’s flagship and strategic projects in the Asia and Middle East. For ensuring the better implementation, monitoring and achieving quality results; Project Manager need to play the crucial roles.  S/he ensures the better coordination and communication among the implementing partners and LWR country teams in Nepal and India.  These are some of illustrative major roles but are not limited to: 

Major roles and responsibilities: 

  • Take lead for coordination and communication with implementing partners at the field
  • Ensure the on timely project implementation and monitoring and provide feedbacks/inputs to the partners
  • Provide necessary capacity building coaching, orientation and training to partner staffs about Resilience, DRR, Early Warning System, Market Led Flood Resilient Livelihoods
  • Compile and prepare periodic reports; and ensure the timely submission of narrative and financial reporting
  • Work closely with M&E Officer and TBR Project Team to ensure the timely implementation of project activities and expenses as per work plan, M&E plan and budget; collect all necessary data, case studies, photos and others as required from the field
  • Work closely with partner, country teams in Nepal and India; and ensure the LWR and donor’s all reporting requirements and guidance
  • Help and support to Program Director and Country Director for intelligence gathering about new project design
  • Support to Program Director on overall project management including admin and finance issues
  • Follow the instructions and suggestions from Program Director for any final decisions

Qualification and Experience Requirement: 

  • Should have at least Master level study in social science or business study or agriculture or natural management or environment
  • At least five-year experiences with NGO/INGO sector in the field of DRR, Resilience, Climate Change or Agriculture/livelihoods
  • Strong skills on linkage, networking and communication with government and concerned stakeholders
  • Strong report writing and communication skills in English.
  • Able to frequently travel  Nepal and India field sites
  • Previous experiences on flood resilience, early warning and livelihoods etc would be added value
