Reporting to: Project Support Manager
Supervise: Cluster Resource Coordinator (CRC)
Liaises Central, local and district government line agencies and other project partner organizations, donor and like-minded stakeholders
Based: Kathmandu with frequent visit to project area (40%)
Overview of the post: This is an exciting role. The successful candidate will develop and implement an ‘Early Years’ programme that measurably improves ECCD and Basic education.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Development
- Develop a professional programme through the production of documents and tools that enable effective implementation of the programme modality, including; activity and milestone plans, project prioritisation, vision sharing, training plans and installation guides.
- Implement clear systems and procedures that maintain accurate data and up to date knowledge of all successes and challenges faced by the programme.
- Identify innovative interventions, teaching methods and changes in curriculum at local, national and global levels that bring positive change in education related issues and incorporate into the programme where applicable.
- Documentations of district level events, including successful practices.
- Promote a positive culture of high performance, customer care and service, continuous improvement, two-way communication, and teamwork.
Programme Implementation:
1. Staff Support and Management
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor CRT performance, impact and outcome of their work.
- Engage CRT in planning processes, leading them to identify links between their work and the delivery of the project objectives.
- Ensure monthly action plans reflect CRTs workload
2. Coordination and Networking
- Build and strengthen healthy coordination, collaboration and cooperation with government, collaborative partner organization and other likeminded organizations working in the area.
- Use sustainability/ownership mechanism to gain meaningful participation of community people.
- Conduct visioning and planning workshops in each school for all key stakeholders.
- Produce parenting education workshop content and support CRTs to deliver these.
- Networking and liaising with media as appropriate.
3. Teacher Training
- Manage the content and design of phased ECCD – grade 3 (4 &5) teacher training programme including consulting and appointing appropriate expert trainers, training methods and tailored progress plans.
4. Monitoring and Evaluation
- Collate, review and report measurable outcomes and project deliverables in accordance with M&E assessments and action plans from CRTs
- Maintain a strategic view to the accuracy and appropriateness of the assessments used to evaluate the programme.
- Suggest adjustments where they will improve the programme.
5. Financial Management:
- Establish and maintain record of program expenses in a standard format for settlement of advance and reimbursement
- Plan budget for impending activities and communicate with supervisor for accuracy and timely release
- Manage the programme expenditure in accordance with the agreed budget and produce quarterly financial updates
- Formulate forthcoming annual budget based on program changes and improvements
Required Qualification
Bachelor degree in Education or any other discipline with at least 3 years relevant experience in the following areas:
- ECCD and Basic Education with teachers training background
- Management experience in I/NGO
- Team Management and facilitation
Skills
- Proficiency to use MS Office, power point etc
- Able to communicate effectively and write report in both English and Nepali
- Demonstration of excellent team working and relationship building skills
- Able to travel frequently and spend time away from base and home
Qualifications: Bachelor degree in Education or any other discipline with at least 3 years relevant experience in project management, proposal writing, teachers training, coordination and networking with government, donor, partner organizations and other like-minded organizations.
Salary: As per the organization's rules and regulation
Duration: One year (Extendable)
