Role overview

Project Coordinator will be responsible for overall management and providing technical guidance to Disaster Risk reduction/Flood Recovery project. Project coordinator will ensure timely implementation and completion of project activities within stipulated time. . S/he will also be responsible for contributing to the enhancement of resilience by supporting on planning, implementing and disseminating experiences in different platforms. S/he will support the target municipalities during Vulnerability Capacity Assessment (VCA), Municipality Disaster Risk Management Plan (MDRMP) preparation and Municipal emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (MEPRP) formulation process and the contingency plans to be prepared by the municipalities and private sector. The Recovery project will be implemented in three municipality of Rauthat district.


Skills, qualifications and experience required

  • Master degree in DRM, Sociology, civil engineering Information Technology or related discipline with 5 years’ experience in DRR/CCA 
  • Experience in working with International NGO’s, UN agencies and/or line  ministries in complex emergencies 
  • Experience with training of national staff and communities, and in convening and facilitating trainings and workshops
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to establish effective  working relations with staff and other stakeholders. 
  • Experience and willingness to work in the field. 
  • Experience in living and working in a cross-cultural, multi-sector, insecure, remote area environment, under team conditions
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in adverse conditions
  • Substantial project and people management skills and experience
  • English language (written and spoken)Desirable
  • Experience in the area of disaster relief, response and recovery 
  • Experience of working in a post-disaster area
