Program Officer - Disaster Risk Reduction(DRR)

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support in Planning,  implementing and ensuring the quality DRR activities with Specific emphasis on WASH
  • Monitoring, Reporting and Documentation 
  • Participate in the coordination, representation and partnerships of DRR sector 
  • Participate in the evaluation and reorientation of  the project

Qualification and Required Skills: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Disaster Management or a relevant subject with at least 3 years of experience or Masters’ degree in Disaster Management or a relevant field with at least 1 year of experience.
  • Should have project management capacity & experience 
  • Previous experience in Livelihood would be added advantage
  • Should have ability to analyze a situation, synthesize information and use the outputs to improve implementation
  • Should have organizational and facilitation skills
  • Should have Flexibility in work
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Should be comfortable in remote environments
  • Sensitive and responsive to Gender, Age Diversity and Social Inclusion
  • Ability to work in diverse environment
  • Excellent standard of written and spoken English and Nepali 
  • Excellent computer skills including navigating email, internet and MS Word, Excel,  and PowerPoint

Contract Type : Fixed Term
Contract Duration: November 2018 (Extendable subject to Funding and Performance)
Duty Station: Kathmandu with extensive travel to field areas
