A Nepali organization that provides services to national and international entities is seeking applications from Nepali nationals for the position of a short-term, full time Program Consultant to work on the area of Access to Justice.

Typical roles and responsibilities:

  • Act as a local grant making consultant for international organization;
  • Responsible for grant-making activities related to legal empowerment and access to justice wherein, grant making activities may include independently handling related tasks like soliciting proposals, drafting organizational assessments and finalizing grants documents;
  • Lead and coordinate in monitoring and evaluation of grantee’s performance;
  • Update and edit grant reports;
  • Coordination and participation in various meetings with stakeholders relating to the program areas; and
  • Perform any other reasonable duty as assigned by the supervisor or Team Leader.

Duration and Remuneration:

The duration of the contract will be six (6) months (15th September 2017 to 14th March 2018 inclusive) and the remuneration shall be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Comprehensive understanding of the structure and workings of both formal and informal organizations (non-profit organizations), networks, civil society and movements within varied contexts and as appropriate to the program;
  • Excellent project management skills, supervisory skills, communication and coordination skills;
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English as well as in Nepali;
  • Comprehensive, specialized knowledge in the designated field, including familiarity with contemporary issues and debates; and
  • Able to integrate the organizational values into the performance of duties and tasks on a daily basis and participate in in-house working groups designed to uphold the values and foster healthy intra-office communication.

Qualification:

  • Master’s degree in Law, Human Rights, Gender Studies, Social Work or any other relevant field of study.
  • 2-4 years of progressively responsible experience in a situation, relevant to the duties of this role.
