Job Description

The Role:

The Project Coordinator is an integral member of the team responsible for developing and implementing projects of varying need and complexity. The Project Coordinator is responsible for supervising, managing, and coordinating project activities with other team members and volunteers, and working collaboratively with the Executive Director.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Conduct focus group discussions about project Ujyalo before conducting surveys, promoting awareness about the mission and vision of the project
  • Conduct baseline survey and shortlist potential venues to carry out the project
  • Recruit volunteers to conduct surveys at the shortlisted venues to implement the project
  • Perform cost effective analysis to estimate the budget to conduct the project
  • Conduct post project evaluations and prepare reports
  • Collaboratively work with the Executive Director and other team members in project design, planning and implementation
  • Collaborate with educational institutions to develop cost effective and efficient technologies needed for the project
  • Collaborate with community leaders to expand the project and promote idea sharing
  • Collaborate with major stakeholders to promote the idea and obtain funding
  • Organize project planning, and research and development of both the ongoing and potential projects
  • Maintain transparent communication with the Executive Director and be available to attend regular skype meeting with the U.S based team, especially during off hours
  • Send weekly reports on project progress to the U.S based team
  • Represent Ujyalo and its work in the media and the community
  • Support other organizational activities as needed
