ROLE PURPOSE:

We work together, with our partners from civil societies and government, to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives. We reached approximately two million populations and invested over 29 million US dollars in 2012 to reach more children than ever before, through programmes in Health, Nutrition, Education, Protection and Child Rights and Governance, Livelihood, HIV and AIDS, and Humanitarian crises.

The Program Coordinator functions as a technical member of the TB program and will support in planning, implementation, coordination and monitoring of National TB Program activities. She/he will be responsible to coordinate for technical oversight and backstopping TB programs, PPM, TB/HIV and MDR TB related activities. The Program Coordinator will work closely with the NTC, NCASC, Save the Children, Regional Directorate of Health, Regional TB Centre, Regional TB/Leprosy Officers (RTLOs), SRs and District TB/Leprosy Officers (DTLOs), district HIV focal person. 


KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Coordinate TB program related activities at centre, regions and districts.
  • Oversight of quality of NTP services/DOTS implementation at region and district level through supervisory visits to health facilities;
  • In consultation with relevant program focal person of NTC and Project Manager-Global Fund, responsible to advocate and advise current policies and strategies of National Tuberculosis Programme to regions and districts;
  • Responsible to coordinate all public private mix (PPM) related activities at national, regional and district levels and support to increase case notification.
  • Coordinate and support on design, implement and monitoring SRs’s activities and ensure the quality deliverables as per the agreement.
  • Facilitating to develop/revise strategies/guidelines/manuals of TB program; 
  • Provide on-site coaching/mentoring to relevant SRs/SDPs on various aspects of TB program as per the need
  • Review field visit reports to ensure recommendations of last field visit reports are addressed in the next field visit
  • Facilitating national level planning, evaluation and reporting workshops, participate regional level PME workshop and provide feedback in collaboration with M&E Specialist;
  • Coordinate to collect and compile necessary data and support to prepare PUDR in time;
  • Support in carrying out assessment and survey as per program need; 
  • Coordinate with government agencies/NGO/INGO activities at centre and regional levels to support NTP;
  • Support to SRs in planning and effective implementation of activities at regional and district level;
  • Regular monitor of SRs activities, provide feedback and ensure the quality of deliverable within the agreed timeframe; 
  • Perform other duties as requested by PMU Project Manager.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Education: Master degree in public health or equivalent to it.

Total work experience: Minimum of 3 years (2 years for GSI group) of work experience in Public Health Program management at national level preferably in TB Control Program

Skills:

  • Computer experience with MS Word, MS excel and PowerPoint,
  • Good management/facilitation skill with partners
  • Good understanding of TB indicators and its analysis/interpretation
  • Excellent spoken and written skill in English and Nepali language
  • Report writing and analytical skills
  • Excellent coordination and communication skill with GoN and other stakeholders
  • Ability to travel in the field
