Disaster Hack is a San Francisco based INGO utilizing art to inspire, technology to empower and innovation to overcome humanitarian challenges in communities affected by natural disaster.  We work with universities to bring innovation and entrepreneurship into the lives of students, we teach code and distribute computers in rural communities, incubate and fund local innovation, fund art initiatives, send artists to Burning Man, and develop sustainable businesses to provide employment and generate funds to support community development.

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electronics
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Engineering
  • Previous experience in working with NGOs
  • Should have 3d modeling/printing & business development experience, and 
  • Experience in designing production workflows are some of the things we are looking for
  • Experience developing of a product from concept to product
  • Proficiency in English and engineering background is required
  • Sourcing products from China is also a huge plus
  • Experience managing staff is requirements
  • Very good command of English, both spoken and written

Job Description

A San Francisco Based INGO is looking for a full-time R&D/Product Manager and Machine Fabricators/welders. Disaster Hack is an innovation organization that utilizes art and technology to make humanitarian impact globally. We are looking to grow our team of humanitarian hackers

Responsibilities:

  • The production and quality of our social impact products
  • Improving production capabilities by designing new manufacturing techniques, innovating product and machine designs
  • Working with our business development team and our manufacturing team to R&D new products and manufacturing workflows 
  • Assisting/Advising our team of artists on designing and engineering large scale international art installations. Managing and building a team of engineers
