Hydroplan Group has provided services to the renewables sector (mainly hydropower) for more than 30 years.  There are three parts to the group:-

  • Environmental, Research & Consents
  • Design, Engineering and Project Management
  • Asset Management including Operations, Maintenance and Monitoring
Renewable Energy (Hydropower and Solar) will dominate future energy systems and Storage / Private HV networks will be key features. Hydroplan  already has the breadth and scope to tackle the challenges of all these sectors.

Job Description

  • Project and Team Management
  • Remote monitoring of Renewable Energy Stations
  • Collaborating with research and development to support the roll out of new tools and methods.
  • Support the quality assurance process for deliverables created by others in the organisation
  • Responsible for the delivery of assigned tasks and projects within defined timescales and budgets
  • Review and optimise existing methods or gather raw hydro turbine and other operational data and automating the process of generating KPIs for benchmark systems
  • Manage flexible energy contracts for our clients and build bespoke financial reports for clients
  • Propose innovative ways data science can be applied to improve the hydro industry to feed into development of new projects and services
  • Produce high quality technical reports or documentation as appropriate to the role and follow quality procedures for their release.  Furthermore, support the quality assurance process for deliverables created by others in the organisation
  • Writing regular reports on wholesale market developments

 Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Science, Engineering or related discipline
  • 5+ years in a related field discipline
  • Ideally have an understanding of  Electricity markets, carbon price support, emissions performance standard and associated topics
  • Strong quantative, writing, communication and analytical skills
  • High proficiency in MS office applications, include Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Able to work within a dynamic environment with good attention to detail
  • Able to work to tight deadlines and self-manage priorities against multiple tasks
  • Able to communicate externally in a clear English language and in an approachable manner

Shift work

  • The post will be required to undertake some shift work (early or late) from time to time
  • Some weekend work will be required on a rota system
  • Overtime will be paid where appropriate
