Role overview:

Support adopt and contextualize Social Accountability Core Approach in VSO projects and programme and empower the right holders to aware their rights, raise voice to claim their right to make the duty bearer accountable.

Skills, qualifications and experience required:
Qualifications:
 

  • Minimum Bachelor Degree in social science/ development studies with two years or intermediate degree with seven years’ experience on Right based approach and adequate knowledge in good governance and accountability, or relevant subject. 
  • Ability to train government and non-government staff to design and implement social inclusion and gender strategies and action plans. 
  • Excellent Nepali language and good in documentation
  • In-depth knowledge on current governance issues at policy and program levels in Nepal 
  • Good experience on assessing individual capacity and conducting training for diverse target group

Allowance:

  • As a VSO volunteer, you will be sharing your skills with local communities on a full time basis. VSO will cover your travel, vaccinations, accommodation, along with a local living allowance which will be paid in local currency. This allowance meets reasonable living expenses in country, but will not be enough to send money home. 
  • VSO works with some of the poorest communities in the world which means accommodation varies and will be basic.
