  • Planning a daily, weekly, and termly programme of work and activities.
  • Preparing each learning area by deciding its layout and the resources to use.
  • Giving each child the confidence to try things for themselves.
  • Watching the children and making notes of progress and difficulties.
  • Making sure all children have equal chances to learn. 
  • Feeding children unable to feed themselves.
  • Making sure the setting is safe for children to play and learn.
