Plantation Initiative Nepal (PIN) is a non-profit non-governmental organization registered with the District Administration Office (DAO), Lalitpur with registration number: 5605/2075. It is registered with the Social Welfare Council (SWC); 48774. The main office is located in Bagdol, Lalitpur. PIN has been focusing on landscape restoration and community livelihood upliftment all around Nepal with programs in 16 districts from Jhapa in the east to Kalikot in the west.

Plantation Initiative Nepal is implementing Eden Reforestation Projects since 2015. Eden Reforestation Projects works in developing regions of the world to protect and restore forests and ecosystems by working with local communities to address and mitigate the drivers of landscape degradation. Eden has active programming in Africa, Latin America, and Asia.

Job Description

Plantation Initiative Nepal is NGO registered in DAO Lalitpur and affiliated with SWC. The objective of PIN is to promote activities for environment protection.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Have an understanding of the mission and vision of the organization.
  • Regular travel will be required. 
  • Coordination of socioeconomic surveys to measure the impact of livelihoods provided by reforestation work.
  • Design and coordination of a work plan for conducting the socioeconomic surveys on an ongoing basis (including baseline and follow-up data).
  • Coordination of the surveys among project sites, including at least 3 groups of participants: Direct, indirect, and control group participants. 
  • Recruitment and training of survey Enumerators. 
  • Conduct socioeconomic surveys on a regular basis (in addition to coordinating the Enumerators’ surveys). 
  • Reporting on field observations about the socioeconomic well-being of survey participants. 
  • Initiate data analysis  to review data trends and overall project performance.
  • Assist to develop and strengthen monitoring, and evaluation procedures (M&E plan, indicators).
  • Pioneer the development, review and utilization of data collection, monitoring and reporting tools.
  • Monitor all project activities and progress towards achieving the project output.
  • Review all reports to ensure that data provided is reliable and accurate. 

Competencies:

  • Minimum 2 years of working experience in relevant field 
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Ability to work well with people from different background and cultures.
  • Ability to be a creative problem solver, be proactive, and create order out of ambiguity. 
  • Organize and accurately complete multiple tasks by establishing priorities while taking into consideration special assignments, deadlines, available resources and multiple reporting relationships.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, Google earth, GIS.
