Foundation for Development Management (FDM) (www.fdm.com.np) is a private limited company registered under the Company Act of Government of Nepal in 2000 as a development support organization. Over its past two decades of operation, FDM has conducted a number of assignments pertaining to Research, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) and Institutional Development. Having served over 35 national and international clients comprising of government, non–government and donor organizations, FDM primarily works under the thematic areas of education, health, governance, child rights, DRR and GESI. FDM is based in Kathmandu, Nepal and has 15 full-time program staff, over 100 consultants and pool of enumerators spread over 67 districts. In its two decades of operation, it has successfully completed more than 100 M&E and research assignments.

Job Description

The Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Officer will be providing support in monitoring and evaluating on all the projects of FDM. The incumbent will be responsible for overall M&E and learning needs of projects.S/he is expected to coordinate with members of the Project Team in the Office to develop and promote the use of standard indicators, tools and forms (as appropriate) and M&E practices across the projects. 

Required Qualification and Experience

  • Master degreepreferably in Monitoring and Evaluation, Social Work, Development Studies, Economics, Sociology, Anthropology, Geography or other related field. 
  • At least 2 years of working experience in the field of development management or similar.

Competencies 

  • Strong understanding of programme design, theory of change functions and logical frameworks
  • Research skills, project proposal and concept note writing skills
  • Able to work with a geographically dispersed team
  • Required knowledge on financial management skills, and budgeting
  • Knowledge and work experience on contemporary development issues, working with donors and partner organizations
  • Fluency in both English and Nepali 
  • Basic IT skills required especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point) and SPSS.
