Job Description

Work Purpose: To work under the overall guidance and supervision of Sunsari Economic Empowerment of Producers (SEEP) Project Specialist. The position will work to assist producers within the Sunsari World Vision International Nepal (WVIN) Area Development Programme (ADP) area to increase their incomes by assisting producers to meet buyer’s requirements and gain access to more lucrative and sustainable markets.  

Minimum Qualifications and Experience required:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preference Master’s degree) in Agriculture/Sociology/Social Work/Economics/Rural Development or relevant field from recognised university with at least three years working experience in producer groups in market led agriculture projects. 
  • Understanding of the culture and conditions of marginal farmers/ stallholders in Nepal (particularly in far-western region
  • Demonstrated experience in market assessment, market analysis, market research, commercial market operations and systems, 
  • Demonstrated experience in Monitoring and Evaluation of market led agriculture projects, primary production and agriculture
  • Strong understanding of 
  • Knowledge of value chain analysis and its effects on poor producers 
  • Good knowledge on logical frameworks, strategic sourcing, procurement planning  and monitoring
  • Competent in using MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint presentation, Mind Jet and Microsoft Visio.  
  • Ability to work under pressure and can take additional responsibilities
  • Ability to work in different target groups and in a team
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills in English and Nepali                 
  • Willingness to commit to World Vision ethos, vision, mission and core values
  • Self-motivated, confident, independent & creative with strong analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Positive learning attitude and concern for the poor and vulnerable people
