National Association of People Living with HIV in Nepal (NAP+N) is a national network of People Living with HIV (PLHIV) was established in 2003 that works at the national level and local community-based organizations and communities with a mission to strengthen the voice of PLHIV through the formation and strengthening of networks and association of PLHIV to respond to the challenges of HIV and AIDS in Nepal. NAP+N focuses on building the capacity of local PLHIV groups to respond appropriately to the needs of PLHIV and its related key populations in areas of advocacy, prevention, care, and support, counseling, raising community awareness, providing information and education, and improving access to the healthcare and legal services. 

NAP+N is seeking applications from qualified, smart, and result-oriented Nepali citizens for the following positions to support HIV and TB programs focusing on HIV case finding among other vulnerable populations (Migrant and their spouse) in the community.

Job Role: 

Laboratory Assistant is one of the responsible positions of NAP+N in the program district under HIV program supported by Save the Children under Global Fund. H/She is responsible to perform confirmatory HIV test of reactive client referred by IRWs. H/She is also responsibility to perform HIV screening test and ensure the quality of the test performed by IRWs both in the community and mobile camps. H/She will maintain close coordination of Palika, HFs, FCHVs and IRWs before and during mobile camps.  S/he will maintain service record using CLT register immediately after service delivery. S/he will be working at district level under direct supervision of Project Coordinator. 

Key Areas of Accountability: 

    • Plan and implement mobile camps for HIV screening test in program coverage area
    • Perform confirmatory test of all the reactive cases  
    • Perform HIV screening, maintain CLT register, provide test results and filling office copy
    • Track all the reactive client & index partner for HIV confirmation, ART enrollment and link to care & support program 
    • Maintain HIV test kits stock, stock register, expiry chart and coordinate with district/HTC to manage shortages of commodities when needed 
    • Ensure quality HIV testing is performing by IRWs and oversight HIV screening test as per quality testing cycle and requirement 
    • Support Project Coordinator and M&E Officer to Implement program activities at Palika level in coordination with Palika and health facilities
    • Support M&E Officer to validate the records of IRWs, prepare and entry OPMIS and IHMIS report
    • Follow up and flag field level issues and challenges to PC and SR office for further solution
    • Follow the Safeguarding Policy of SCI and comply at all level

    Qualification:

    • Completed Lab Assistant from a recognized institute and registered with NPHC
    • 1 year of working experience in a related field 
    • Residency at the local level/PALIKA level will be given a priority
