The Accelerating Public and Private Investment in Infrastructure Component (APPIIC) of the UKAID funded Accelerating Investment in Infrastructure in Nepal (AIIN) programme is managed by IMC Worldwide. The Major Projects Group (MPG) is funded by the UK Government’s Department for International Development through its APPIIC project, and provides support to the Investment Board of Nepal (IBN) and other GoN ministries and agencies on investment promotion and the delivery of public infrastructure.

MPG internship

We are offering 3-month internships to the MPG in the following subject areas. The selected candidates will be entitled to a monthly stipend of NPR 23,000 and allowances as per APPIIC norms, and may subsequently be offered full-time positions with MPG.

Candidates for the MPG Internship must submit: 

  • Curriculum Vitae (word format not exceeding one page A4) listing your educational background and professional experience (if any).
  • A short essay (not more than 500 words) in English on one of the topics below.  Candidates applying for more than one of the proposed internships need only submit one essay.  The essays will be assessed on the quality of the arguments presented rather than their completeness

Internship: Investment Promotion

Work with the IBN’s Investment Promotion Team to update the profiles and relevant economic data of different sectors of the Nepal economy, namely agriculture, electricity, tourism, transportation, manufacturing, banking and finance, for publication on the IBN website and in brochures.  Assist in the drafting of other investment promotion literature and support and in populating the IBN’s investor database, and profiles of firms that have expressed an interest in investing in Nepal. 

Background

Research economist at final year undergraduate, graduate or post graduate level or technical specialist in one or more of the identified sectors.  Good spoken and written English and Nepali.
