Job Description:
Togglecorp is looking to hire a talented designer who is eager to work with a dynamic startup on solving data problems for the humanitarian sector. Your role will be split between creating mockups and designs for web development projects, in addition to creating infographics and other design features for clients.
A bit about DEEP and us
DEEP is an open source, community-driven secondary data review web application that is a collaborative initiative between three United Nations agencies (UNHCR, OCHA, OHCHR), The International Red Cross (IFRC), Assessment Capacities Project (ACAPS), Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre (IDMC) and the Joint IDP Profiling Service (JIPS).
The platform was first created by UN OCHA and ACAPS in 2015 in response to the lack of usable tools in the humanitarian sector to manage qualitative and quantitative data in humanitarian crises. Intelligence is at the core of the platform’s functionalities as we aim to use Natural Language Processing and other Machine Learning techniques to automate as much of the platform’s workflow as possible. DEEP is currently used by a number of humanitarian organizations at the headquarters level in Geneva and in crisis response around the world.
Although the platform is internationally funded and managed, it is developed locally by Togglecorp, a Jawalakhel based startup with a group of talented designers, developers, programmers and analysts who are passionate about new challenges that the digital world has to offer. The team members are experts in their respective fields and strive to adapt ourselves to the rapidly changing technological landscape to produce quality products. Togglecorp has been developing DEEP for the past two years and there is a five-year plan in place for Togglecorp’s development of DEEP into the future.
