Role overview

The GIEN Lead provides visionary strategic leadership, technical insights and high-quality competencies to promote and sustain endeavours of inclusive education. Take a lead role in promoting government linkages and strengthen Girls and Inclusive Education Network (GIEN).

Skills, qualifications and experience

Essential:

Qualification: Master's degree in Education

Network Management: At least 5 years’ Experience of planning and providing policy inputs in inclusive education, along with gender and social inclusion collaborating with multiple stakeholders, delivering expected benefits in challenging contexts.

Communication - Excellent oral and written communication skills in internal and international community with ability to vary communication content and style to suit audiences to inform, motivate and inspire.

Relationship Building - Ability to build effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders of inclusive education network, donors and development partners, inspiring confidence, and credibility. Ability to work effectively across the local government, as per new federal context Capable to strengthen relationship with local government, educational organizations, and other civil society organizations for the effective implementation of GIEN network and inclusive education interventions.

Organization and planning - Excellent coordination and planning skills with experience of working under pressure.

Time management skills: prioritization skills, decision making skills, focus of the program, coping skills etc.

Analysis and creative problem-solving - Ability to analyses and quickly grasp the fundamentals of a need or issue. Able to find innovative ways of solving cross cutting problems.

Flexibility - Ability to manage a project in a changing context, recognizing and being open to ambiguity, uncertainty and opportunities.

Information Technology - Good level of computer skills (Windows, Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook, and Internet).

Travel requirement: Able to travel in project areas in country and internationally occasionally and spend time away from work- base location and home.

Previous working experience of managing education volunteers’ networks
Experience of managing change difficult circumstances
