General Support Assistant

Responsibilities : The post holder, under the line management of Premises and Transport Manager, shall support to ensure maintenance of the Embassy building and premise. S/He shall support the line manager to coordinate and keep an overview on tasks related to Embassy Grounds and maintenance and also ensure smooth function of Embassy Petrol Pump.

  • Support the maintenance of Embassy office buildings and Ambassador’s residence and other infrastructure construction at Ekantakuna premises (repair, paint, etc.); 
  • Undertake minor electrical, plumbing and masonry tasks and organize outside services for extensive construction work;
  • Undertake replacement of IT equipment (printer, monitor, laptop, beamer etc.)
  • Support to ensure smooth functioning of generator;
  • Assist in collection and payment of official utility bills;
  • Assist in bulk photocopying and Binding

Required Technical Competence :

  • Class 10 and / Electrician Training or Plumbing training (level 2 and above) from NSTB/CTEVT or from a recognized institution
  • At least 1 year experience in the required job area
  • Able to troubleshoot and fix the electrical / plumbing problems
  • Able to read simple instructions and communicate in English
  • Ability to take responsible for specific task in the field of expertise
  • Ability to works independently in the field of expertise

  • Courtesy and Customer orientation; Conscious of responsibility and willingness to assure confidentiality and professional integrity.
  • Time management and task prioritization; Reasoning skills; Good Interpersonal skills; Ability to work in a multi-cultural team; Able to work and contribute positively in a team ;Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
