1. ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in radio and/or understanding of FM broadcasting in Nepal.
  • Demonstrated skills in developing communication materials. 
  • Proven ability to use social media tools for marketing.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in planning and coordination. 
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Nepali.

2. DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in business administration, marketing and/or branding

Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure timely delivery of programmes from BBC MA to broadcast partners 
  • Develop programme follow-up procedures with partner stations and regularly update programme broadcasts, in part, by analyzing information provided by FM monitors and cross checking information.
  • Ensure that BBC MA programmes are broadcast from partner stations as per contract agreements by developing programme broadcast information receipt and dissemination procedures, as well as through feedback mechanisms from listeners and audiences. 
  • Keep updated programme and broadcast information from partner FM stations – this includes verifying broadcast schedules, collecting information from FM monitors and occasional spot checks. 
  • Support the Training and Networking Manager in conducting FM partner reviews and identifying possible new radio partners for broadcasting programmes. 
  • Regularly update partner information including contacts, management changes, bills/invoices, etc.
  • Ensure all FM partners receive BBC MA programming through user friendly programme delivery mechanisms and, where necessary, ensure timely dispatch of BBC MA programmes. 
  • Support the Training and Networking manager through devising and implementing new administration systems and procedures. 
  • Keep record of equipment supplied by BBC MA to partners and ensure visibility of support provided. 
  • Develop marketing and branding of BBC Media MA programming online and through other media and support promotion of BBC MA media programming. 
  • Analyze feedback received by listeners and FM monitors and work to rectify issues as required. 
  • Support in collecting information from radio stations to develop communication materials and reports. 

 Cooperation

  • Communicate with FM station partner on business related activities to support Training and Networking Manager.
  • Liaise with programme departments concerning delivery deadlines for recorded programmes and accompanying materials.
  • Liaise with other programme strands of BBC Media Action in order to increase the impact of all project activities in Nepal and to avoid duplication of efforts.
