About the Program

This is a minimum two-year program designed to fully immerse the trainees day-to-day activities in our Finance & Compliance Department. The program starts with an orientation where trainees learn about our culture, as well as the benefits and responsibilities of being a member of KCL Astute.  Trainees will also receive training designed to help them succeed.

Trainees studying towards the ACCA qualification can subject to our approval claim exemption from the Performance Objective component of their practical experience requirement. They will only be required to use their My Experience record to provide details of their employment to claim the Performance Objective exemption to ACCA.

Functional Title: Financial Analyst

As a Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for assisting Department Head in the smooth operation of the Finance Department of KCL Astute. The incumbent is expected to perform analytical work requiring knowledge of current financial principles and analytical practices. Specifically, s/he will;

• Prepare and post journal, payment and receipt entries
  
• Oversee and assist with processing all payments including vendor's invoices, individual reimbursements, payroll and other accounts payable and receivables as required
  
• Process request from other departments with proper supporting documents on time
  
• Follow up receivables and ensure recognition and receipt of the same on time
  

Required Skills and Experience:

• Demonstrated knowledge on IFRS and NAS
  
• Strong analytical skills
  
• Working knowledge of Tally software would be considered an asset

Functional Title: Operations Analyst

As an Operations Analyst, you will be responsible for assisting Department Head-PMS Operations in the smooth operation of PMS Operations Department of KCL Astute. The incumbent is expected to perform analytical and administrative work requiring knowledge of Portfolio Management Services. Specifically, s/he will;

• Coordinate with Brokers, Custodians and Bankers for smooth functioning of the Department
  
• Assist in portfolio accounting and portfolio performance reporting to ensure timely recording and accurate reporting and adherence to deadlines of all the clients
• Understand the Wealth Software, PMS Mobile App and Website login and liaises to solve any technical glitches for all the clients', if any
• Calculate Annual Management Fees and Performance Fees of all clients and issues debit instructions to the concerned bank

Required Skills and Experience:

• Strong analytical skills
  
• Client first attitude, professional demeanour, personal integrity and an understanding of fiduciary responsibility
  
• Willingness to take on additional operational responsibilities as needed
  
• Demonstrate knowledge of Nepalese capital markets
  
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  
• Working knowledge of Wealth Software would be considered an asset
  

Functional Title: Equity Research Analyst

As an Equity Research Analyst, you will be responsible for assisting Investment Manager in the execution of KCL Astute’s research process. This is a generalist role within the investment management division and provides significant exposure to a broad array of industries within domestic asset classes. Specific responsibilities include:

• Analyze corporate news, public documents, policies and circulars issued by Nepal Rastra Bank, Insurance Board, Securities Board of Nepal and other regulatory bodies on a daily basis to keep oneself updated about the happenings in the market
  
• Attend daily departmental meeting and participates in discussion with other team members regarding the market trends and other news which are likely to have an impact on capital markets
  
• Follow the capital market to formulate investment strategy with information about the most volatile stocks in the respective sectors and the reasons behind it and find out any developments in the respective sector
