Department: Accounts & Finance

Reports To: Finance Director

Job Summary:

The Accounts & Finance Officer is responsible for overseeing the financial health of the organization by managing financial operations, developing budgets, monitoring financial performance, and implementing sound accounting practices. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide strategic financial guidance to support organizational goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics.
  • Develop annual budgets in collaboration with department heads and senior management.
  • Monitor budgetary performance and provide variance analysis.
  • Recommend and implement budget adjustments as necessary.
  • Prepare timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Generate comprehensive financial reports for management review.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Manage and optimize the organization's cash flow.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Monitor and control expenditures to ensure financial stability.
  • Identify and assess financial risks.
  • Implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Liaise with external auditors and coordinate the annual audit process.
  • Implement recommendations from auditors to improve internal controls.
  • Supervise and mentor finance and accounting staff.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
  • Coordinate tax filings and work with external tax advisors.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the organization's financial strategy.
  • Provide financial insights to support strategic planning initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance
  • Proven experience in financial management, accounting, and budgeting.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations and reporting standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in financial software and ERP systems.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership and team management experience.
  • Detail-oriented and able to meet tight deadlines.
