The Housing Recovery and Reconstruction Platform (HRRP) was established to support the Government of Nepal and Partner Organisations (POs) with coordination of the post-earthquake housing reconstruction led by the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA). The HRRP is currently led by CRS Nepal and has been approved for its third phase that will run until end of February, 2019.

Job Description

The Finance Coordinator in Gorkha will work with the finance team in ensuring adequate stewardship of agency resources and sound accounting in line with generally accepted accounting principles and CRS policies and procedures.

The major responsibilities would be to support emergency response which will include maintenance of sun system, verifying payment requests, reviewing and consolidating cash forecasts, supporting and interacting with partner on liquidation of funds, preparing the grants report, supporting the field staff etc.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Master’s / Professional degree in Finance or Accounting. 
  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience in the development sector. 
  • Good understanding of basic accounting principles. 
  • Detail oriented and ability to apply analytical and evaluative techniques.
  • Ability to develop and lead appropriate training program in general accounting compliance. 
  • Ability to work under pressure and with minimum supervision, be a self-starter, team builder, innovative and demonstrate the capacity for maintaining high professional standards. 
  • Willing to travel 25 – 30% of their time to CRS Partner offices. 
  • Strong communication skills, including interpersonal skills, as well as strong written and oral English, to fulfill the diverse technical requirements.
  • Excellent command in Microsoft Office.
  • Proven decision making skills. 
  • Knowledge of SUN accounting systems is preferable.
