About the project: Plan International Nepal is sub-contractor of the Nepal EGRP, funded by USAID, in consortium led by RTI International. The project aims to address the reading gap among the youngest learners by supporting the government of Nepal, school, parents and communities to bring improvements in Early Grade Reading in Nepali language. Plan International Nepal’s role in consortium is to lead the community mobilization and support activities, which will build capacity of parents and community organizations to help their children learn to read. The project is implementing in 16 districts of Nepal.

Purpose: As a Finance Coordinator, work closely with the country finance team and the EGRP project team to support and ensure compliance with the USAID/RTI and Plan International Nepal financial guidelines.

Term and Location: Fixed term employment till 31 January 2020 based in Country Office, Lalitpur

Required Qualifications & Experiences:

  • Master’s in Business Administration with specialisation in Finance
  • At least 4 years of experience in the field of accounting & administration
  • Experience is USAID project Communication skill, one to one and in groups, written and verbal, presentations and reports, in English and Nepali
  • Experience in coordination and facilitation roles for large donor-funded grants and/or contracts (bilateral or multilateral donors)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review quarterly plan of action, financial proposal and ensure jointly with the program team that cash flow budget is in line with the DIP and plan of action
  • Provide support to project staff to ensure full compliance with the Plan International Nepal policies and procedures while preparing financial reports and documents
  • Prepare monthly  financial  report  in USAID/RTI standard format
  • Quarterly  financial  report  in USAID/RTI standard format
  • Support to prepare revised budget planning
  • Monthly  budget vs. actual to monitoring expenditure in USD and local currency
  • Filing all the necessary finance related documents according to Agreement, Voucher Transaction number and nature of document at all times and kept in safely and accessible place
  • Support, update & furnish all required financial documents during audit period or as necessary
  • Prepare grants report to donor in coordination with Finance Manager-Grants 
  • Work with field staffs on financial matters during program implementation
  • Responsible for full compliance of Plan International Nepal Financial policies along with Operation Manual
  • Compliance with RTI/USAID donors conditions
  • Responsible for accurate review of complete documents in terms of compliance of policies and procedure, availability of budget, reasonable, reliability and relevant supporting documents
  • Coordinate and as necessary support EGRP field level staff on documentation requirement and activity planning in field 
  • Field visit to support field colleagues during the conduction of activities- as and when require
