Job Description

The Field Programme Officer (FPO) will contribute to the effective implementation of projects in Banke Bardia Shukla Complex (BBSC) in coordination with local partners and will be responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring and reporting of ZSL's projects carried out in BBS complex.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct the baseline and impact surveys on wildlife dispersal
  • Design studies, collect and analyse data and prepare reports
  • Analyse data and provide recommendations for the intervention of best livelihood schemes
  • Develop an integrated livelihood and recovery programme implementation plan based on outcomes of socio-economic survey
  • Communicate with project partners, local community, and other stakeholders
  • Ensure implementation of and tracking of project activities
  • Coordinate and facilitate capacity building sessions for park officials, implementing partners and other key stakeholders
  • Monitor the project budget
  • Prepare reports in compliance with the project needs
  • Prepare a clear plan for selection, capacity building and mentoring of Human Wildlife Co-existence champions (HWCx)
  • Develop a HWCx and livelihood restoration plan and support community’s implementation of this plan
  • Conduct regular meetings with HCWx champions, local target communities, park officials and other key stakeholders to review the project progress and plans moving forward
  • Carry out any other activities as assigned by the line manager
